Jelena Mila(known even as Jelena Ivanisevic Paunovic) is actress, producer, screenwriter, director and academic. She received her master degree in Actingat Faculty for Drama Art Belgrade University in Belgrade in 1993 and master degree in Cinema studies at Stockholm University, Swedish film institute 2019, continuing PhD studiesin same field. She studied even theology at Faculty for Orthodox Theology in Belgrade 1993-95. Since Drama art graduation, she has been working as a free-lance actress and producer at National Theatres in Serbia, Montenegro, Yugoslavia and in Sweden at The Royal National Theatre Stockholm, Dramaten on Film and TV. Experienced in both the creative and businessends of the theatre and film industry through her own production company, M.A.M.M.A. production, she has written, directed and produced several theatre and film plays. With it, company 2012 Jelena Mila Co-Produced movie Led/Ice, and produced her first author’s feature IRON WARRIORESSES 2018. In the same time, she founded and successfully running Balkan New Film Festival BaNeFF in Nordic lands: Sweden and Norway, as well as FORTECA International Film Festival in Montenegro, continuously working with several creative and promoting projects. Mila wrote eight drama plays including one bigger film project for the children Bojke Pojke. Her latest published dramas after theatre plays are with the same titles: Iron Warrioresses – Women Volunteers in First World War and other Balkan Wars was given in four languages in Serbian, English, Swedish and Norwegian, and Av hjärtat krigarinnor about Mileva Maric Einstein (scientists) and Vasilija Vukotic (writer and braveheart woman).
Jelena Mila recently joined forces with stellar cast and crew to produce and direct historic drama Empress Helena.
